leaving the gorgeous Mission (that is being restored) our only flat of the ride, 2 miles from end of day 3. thankfully a sweep vehicle was there to help with a full pump and cheer us. i loved the way the sky "painting" was smiling over hunter and the golden hillside.. hunter's been two-timing me!
ALC Training Ride Leaders group picture -- arrangement underway with another 30% of people to still be added food and annoucments tent on day 3 is actually instead in a roof-covered large room part of the "mid state fairgrounds" entrants to the "roadie fashion show" before their runway debuts
jasmine was a fantastically accomplished cyclist we met on our training ride. she and her husband "trained us" as we tried to keep up! best of all, she did this year's ride (first timer!) with her twin sister and her mom (mom was a roadie). what a great family! Some of our wonderful Pos Peds friends! At the "halfway to LA" point, you can line up for photos in front of signs or do your own picture. It was fun to watch 5 "champions" going up at once!
I was looking for an ideal farm that would make me think of my first 4 years growing up in the hayfields of upstate New York. This was close! 8-) I finally stopped at one of these signs. That's 233 miles for quads -- quite a bit more for we two wheelers...
this year we stopped at the unofficial but very popular "cinnamon rolls" stop. they were *fantastic* and hot fresh and gooey!
